July 2026 — With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, family, friends, and supporters are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Penelope Hope Dunn, affectionately known as Penny, whose courageous fight for life came to a tragic end on July 6, 2026. Her passing has left her parents, Courtney and Tom, her little brother Bobby, and all who knew and loved her devastated.
Penny was remembered by her family as “the absolute best fighter.” Despite being seriously unwell for months, she faced every challenge with extraordinary strength, courage, and resilience. Her journey touched countless lives, inspiring hope and admiration from all who followed her story.
She had been receiving intensive care after being diagnosed with bilateral cardiomyopathy, a rare and severe heart condition. During her treatment, she was supported by a specialist life-support machine that temporarily performed the work of her heart while doctors explored possible treatment options. Due to concerns that her condition may have been genetic, she was not considered a suitable candidate for a heart transplant.
Throughout her time in the hospital, Courtney and Tom remained constantly by their daughter’s side, cherishing every moment together and surrounding her with unwavering love and comfort.
During her illness, friends and supporters organized a fundraiser to help ease the financial burden on the family, covering essential expenses and allowing them to focus entirely on Penny’s care without added stress.
Following her passing, an outpouring of love, prayers, and heartfelt condolences has surrounded the family. Many have shared tributes honoring Penny’s bravery, gentle spirit, and the lasting impact she made in her short but meaningful life.
